How do returns work? Will I get a refund?
I would like to return a gift that was sent to me. How do I do that?
Just send us an email at hey@lumeuv.com with your name, email, address, and the name of the person who sent you the gift and we'll guide you through the return process.
There's something wrong with my Lume.
If there's any part of your Lume that's defective upon arrival, we'll arrange the return of the defective unit and ship you a brand new one.
My bulb burned out, do I need to return the device?
Our special Lume UV-C bulbs last 4,000 hours of operation. However, in the event that they burn out prematurely, we'll send you a new one free of charge.
About the Devices
Are they safe to use? How about around children?
Our devices are safe to use around children, pets, and other adults. UV-C light can be harmful to humans if we are directly exposed to it for extended periods of time. And at no time should we be looking directly at UV-C light (just like we avoid directly looking at the sun). However, all of our devices enclose UV-C light and direct its energy solely at the objects we are trying to sanitize. And every device comes with an auto-off switch if the door or panel is opened before the device is done cleaning. So using the device around children, pets, and other adults is perfectly fine as long as you are using it appropriately
How long do the UV-C bulbs last?
Our UV-C bulbs have a lifetime of 4,000 operating hours. And should they burn out prematurely, we'll happily send you a replacement free of charge.
Do I have to flip my phone over? Does the Lume have bulbs on both the cover and the base?
Both the Lume and Lume+ have complete "360 degree" cleaning power with bulbs covering the entire surface area of what you are trying to sanitize. There is no need to flip, rotate, or reposition the object.
What can I clean with my Lume?
Both the Lume and Lume+ are able to sanitize anything that fits inside the device. It works most effectively with flat non-porous surfaces simply because it is difficult for light to touch anything that is folded or has overlapping grooves.
Can I use the Lume+ on its side?
Yes! The Lume+ works vertically or horizontally. But the door only swings in one direction, so please be mindful of which way you orient it for ease of use.
How many times can I sanitize a mask?
In theory you can sanitize a mask as many times as the bulb's operational life will allow. However, we recommend following the CDC's guidelines on mask sanitation and re-use.
